Job Details

The Payroll Systems Analyst is responsible for the configuration, integration, and optimization of payroll systems, including Workday Payroll, ADP Smart Compliance, and EMR timekeeping data integration. This role plays a critical part in merger and acquisition (M&A) activities, supporting the integration of acquired payroll data, pay practices, and timekeeping systems into the organization’s payroll environment. The position partners closely with Payroll Operations, HRIS system administrators, and Finance to ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable payroll operations while reducing reliance on external consultants through internal expertise development.

Reports To: The Payroll Manager

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday Payroll and ADP Smart Compliance payroll system components.

  • Ensure accurate and timely data integrations between payroll, timekeeping, benefits and HRIS systems.

  • Partner closely with HRIS system administrators to align payroll configuration with HCM data structures, security roles, and business processes.

  • Support payroll aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including data conversion, validation, and system onboarding.

  • Analyze acquired company payroll structures, pay codes, calendars, and tax setups to support system integration.  Coordinate and cutover activities for newly acquired entities to ensure accurate and timely integration into TSHC payroll environment.

  • Ensure payroll system configuration and processing complies with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations. Support internal and external stakeholder audits by providing accurate system documentation, reports, and control evidence.

  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess payroll system impacts.

  • Build internal payroll system expertise to reduce dependence on external consultants.

  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline payroll processes through improved configuration and integrations.

  • Lead or participate in payroll system enhancements, upgrades, and testing cycles.

  • Create and maintain payroll system documentation, procedures, and job aids.

  • Assist with processing regular, off-cycle, bonus, and correction payrolls using Workday.

  • Review and validate payroll results, including earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, garnishments, and retroactive adjustments.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries.

  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing, tax filings, and reconciliations.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll experience including Workday configuration and payroll processing.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience supporting data integration related to mergers and acquisitions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Expert knowledge in U.S. payroll regulations and wage and hour requirements.

  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred.

Salary: $80,000/year
