Job Details
The Payroll Manager is an employee that owns the payroll process across all business service lines utilizing the payroll software/systems. In this role, you will report to the VP of Finance & Accounting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for the payroll process with acute attention to details regarding deadlines, accuracy and adherence to federal, state and local payroll laws
Updates records by reviewing and entering changes in exemptions, insurance changes, deductions, PTO, productivity, etc.
Submits documentation within required timeframes
Responsible for preparing/maintaining payroll records
Manage and oversee all Payroll Specialists/Coordinators to include hiring, orienting and evaluating direct reports. Provides mentorship as applicable
Provides hands on assistance to payroll staff when necessary
Processes weekly/bi-weekly payroll accurately and within expected deadlines
Reviews and recommends improvements to existing payroll procedures
Assists HR with new hires and employee changes in HRIS system
Responsible for solving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Prepares and issues manual paychecks, as needed
Responsible for distribution of all checks related to payroll
Processes other financial compensations or deductions (annual bonuses, 401K, severance pay, misc.). This list is not all inclusive
Interacts with employees and provides support with all payroll related questions
Responsible for setup and managing wage garnishments, tax levies, adjusting payroll records and support orders for withholdings
Responsible for auditing Payroll staff as applicable to ensure oversight of their work product
Assists in companywide financial audits as applicable and as assigned
Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures
Maintains strict confidentiality of employee and company information
Performs all other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate across all levels of authority
Possesses 2-3 years of payroll and/or HR experience
Excellent computer organization skills
Able to work with multiple teams and systems within the organization
Able to effectively deal with change through being adaptable and flexible
Able to organize work procedures and assume responsibility for completion
Able to successfully interact with people in face to face situations as well as by telephone in a professional and effective manner; possesses good people skills
Possesses excellent problem-solving techniques and abilities
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
Graduate of an accredited high school or equivalent. Associates or BS degree (preferred)
Experience with CubHub and/or Workday software systems (preferred)

Pay Range: $130,000 / salary
